Houston – Laurie Ann, of St. Thomas died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital in her 53rd year; after a courageous battle with cancer. Much loved mother of Carrie Houston and her fiancé Joe of St. Thomas and loved grandmother of Carson and Clark of St. Thomas. Laurie will be sadly missed by her mother Thelma Houston of St. Thomas and her father Marcus and his wife Elizabeth Houston of Selma, Alabama. Dearly loved sister of John Houston of Orillia and much loved aunt of Andrew and partner Jinny and Kaylee Houston also of Orillia. Laurie was born on June 9th, 1959 in Heart, Ontario. Laurie will be remembered for her infectious laughter, kind heart and love for her family and friends. The funeral to celebrate Laurie’s life will take place at Williams Funeral Home 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Wednesday, August 3rd at 1:00 p.m. with cremation to follow. Visitation to be held on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Caring Cupboard or Second Stage Housing.
