The Selma Police Department closed the book on one drug case Thursday, but is still seeking information on a related issue.

Antone “Nunk” Smith, who was indicted on federal charges of possession of a controlled substance in April, pleaded guilty to the charges Thursday.

Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley said the initial arrest was part of an undercover partnership.

“This was centered on a narcotics investigation where we partnered with federal agents,” he said. “At that time, Smith was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.”

During the investigation, Riley said authorities learned Smith might also have information on another drug offender that has been on the department’s radar.

“We did find that Mr. Smith had connections to Daniel ‘Little Rock’ McReynolds,” Riley said. “We will continue to investigate the case and try to arrest McReynolds and any individual who is operating in the illegal drug arena. Our investigation will continue and be ongoing.”

The department has been searching for McReynolds since June when the department,  in conjunction with federal agents, secured warrants on McReynolds on charges of securing cocaine with the intent to distribute.

McReynolds, Riley said, is a black male, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, approximately 170 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
