Selma will officially Monday become part of the world’s most unique aviation experience.

Craig Field Airport and Industrial Authority is partnering with DayJet, a company that provides on-demand, private flight services to its customers.

Representatives of DayJet will be at Craig Field from 12 to 2 p.m. Monday and will showcase one of the jets from their fleet. The Florida-based company has been built around the concept of providing &8220;per-seat, on-demand&8221; flights. Airfares and even flight plans are catered to the needs of the individual customer.

Selma will provide basic services for planes that fly in and out of the area. Along with using the Craig Field landing space, fuel and other support will be provided through Woodlands Specialists.

Because the partnership is in its infant stages, it is difficult to determine how much economic impact will be made in Selma, according to DayJet spokesperson Vicky Harris.

However, as cities grow to provide the company more services, revenues generally reach into the millions.

A DayPort provides the second level of service as a primary point of origin or destination for flights. This requires the use of infrastructure, and customer care representatives are placed on site.

A DayBase houses maintenance facilities and flight personnel and provides the most advanced level of service.

Harris said Selma was selected based on three factors &045; necessary infrastructure, demand and community support.
