More than a week after a Marie Foster resident was shot, Selma Police are still looking for two suspects believed to have possibly pulled the trigger.
Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley said authorities are looking for 25-year-old Julius Carl Watts and 32-year-old Michael Cordell Watts in connection with an Aug. 5 shooting on the 1500 block of Marie Foster Street.
“Through the investigation and interviews with witnesses, we are looking for these two suspects, who are believed to be armed and dangerous,” Riley said. “We have also been able to interview the victim, who does know the suspects.”
Riley said the shooting happened at about 11 p.m. and that witnesses reported the suspects in a grey sports utility vehicle.
A third suspect, Darrell Dewayne Watts, was taken into custody in connection with this same shooting on Aug. 9, but Riley said, Darrell has not helped investigators with information “one way or the other.”
Darrell Watts is being held in the Dallas County Jail under $500,000 bond.
Both Julius and Michael are being wanted for shooting into an occupied dwelling and first-degree assault.
The victim in the case, who will not be identified, was reportedly struck in a knee and hip from bullets reportedly fired from the SUV occupied by the three suspects.
The victim was taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center, stabilized and then transported to UAB Medical Center in Birmingham.
Both Julius and Michael have criminal histories, Riley said, and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Julies Watts or Michael Watts is asked to contact the Selma Police Department at 874-2190 or Crimestoppers at 877-3530.
