City to receive award today

Representatives of CH2M Hill will present a $1,000 check to the city at 5 p.m. today in the City Hall chambers as an award from the National League of Cities.

The money will be donated to the Selma-Dallas Community Action Agency and the Community Development Cooperation.

Selma was designated as the National League of Cities’ Municipal Award of Excellence Silver Award Winner at the meeting in New Orleans. A video of the award presentation to Mayor James Perkins Jr. will be shown during the presentation.
