The Morgan Academy Senators’ volleyball season got off to a rough start, as they fell on the road to Lee-Scott Academy 3-0.
Morgan Academy coach Jennifer Moore said her team has to improve on a number of things moving forward.
“We just need to work a little bit more on playing together and communication on the court,” Moore said. “We’ll get better. It’s going to take some game time and game experience.”
Moore said her team will play better together now that they’ve played their first game.
“They’ll be a little bit more comfortable on the court now that they’ve played that first game together,” Moore said.
The Senators take the court next on Saturday at 8 a.m., as they will host the Elite 8 volleyball tournament at Morgan Academy.
Other teams participating in the tournament are Prattville Christian Academy, Lee-Scott Academy, Clark Prep School, Sumter Academy, Escambia Academy, Edgewood Academy and Crenshaw Christian Academy.
Moore said the Senators need to communicate better to do well in the tournament.
“We need much better communication,” Moore said. “Defensively, we’re doing alright.”
