Frames N’ Things kicked off a the holiday season with an open house was Sunday afternoon .
Visitors were invited to browse the store while enjoying desserts, sandwiches, and punch. Store owner Kay Traylor said the event was to show customer appreciation
and to preview holiday merchandise.
Christmas ornaments, sale items, baby items, and sports memorabilia were all on display.
“It’s something that is a yearly event,” Traylor said. “It’s a way to spruce up the holidays, and to also offer food and fellowship for loyal customers.”
Ann Denmark of Rocky Mountain, N.C., who is in town for the Thanksgiving holiday, said she especially loves Frames N Things’ Christmas ornaments, which she said are great for gifts or decorating. “They’re all so unique,” she said.
The open house was held from 1 to 4 p.m. Several Selma stores also held open houses Sunday afternoon, including McWatson’s Corner on U.S. Highway 80 East, Four Seasons on Cahaba Road, and Southern Antiques and Collectibles on Water Avenue.
In addition to the Open House, the store also has Special Saturdays, additional shopping days which began in October and will continue through December.
“I was pleased with the attendance and the sales,” Traylor said. “We had a great turnout.
“I would say a fun time was had by all.”
