A Selma woman remained hospitalized Tuesday after she was shot during a domestic dispute in the 1600 block of St. Phillips Street, police said.
The 28-year-old female was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center after police said she was shot Monday night in the thigh with a .22 rifle.
Authorities made an arrest within minutes.
Earnest Lee Jones, 51, was taken into custody and charged with assault. He remained in the Dallas County Jail on $25,000 bond, but authorities said it was increased to no bond due to a probation hold.
According to a police spokesperson, Jones was an ex-boyfriend and the shooting was a result of &8220;a domestic disturbance.&8221;
