Meadowview coach John Glasscock said his team will be a little banged up after a tough loss.

“Not only was it a tough loss, we had some injuries,” Glasscock said. “We’ve got two or three key people that are banged up a little bit. That’s going to hurt us more than anything.”

Glasscock said despite the injuries, the Trojans had a solid week of practice in preparation for Sumter. t

“We had a good week of practice and our kids are working hard, and I feel like we’ll bounce back,” Glasscock said.

Glasscock said the Trojans will see a solid football team when they take the field Friday night.

“Sumter’s got a real good football team,” Glasscock said. “They’ve got a real good coach in coach (Robert) Gartman. They run the veer. I think they’re a good football team. They’re 0-2, but they’ve lost to two good teams.”

Glasscock said defense will be the key come Friday.

“It’s going to be real tough, but I think we’ll hold on,” Glasscock said. “If we can play real good defense and get a few breaks in this ballgame, and the kicking game holds up, I think we’ll be alright.”

Glasscock said field position is going to be another determining factor in who wins the game.
“First of all, we’re going to have to get good field position and you get good field position by playing good defense and your kicking game,” Glasscock said. “If we have to punt, we have to back them up. We’ve got to have good punt and kickoff coverage.”
