The band director has been placed on administrative leave and several students have been suspended at Selma High School as school officials investigate an alleged Monday hazing incident, according to school officials.
The Selma City Board of Education, in a called meeting, met in executive session for several hours Wednesday night discussing personnel. School board attorney Katy Campbell would not discuss specifics, however, school officials issued a written statement.
Brandon Williams is currently the SHS band director.
In a written statement issued to The Selma Times-Journal, school officials said the board &8220;does not tolerate conduct by any student&8221; such as hazing, similar to the popular &8220;Drum Line&8221; film which depicts freshmen being subjected to insults or assaults from upper classmen.
