Trooper was completely off the road

To the Editor:
On June 5, 2007 my brother-in-law, an Alabama State Trooper of three years, was working a routine day in Dallas County.
While stopped on the westbound shoulder of U.S. Highway 80 with a violator, a Ford F-150 left both travel lanes and struck his patrol vehicle from behind.
To get the facts straight, he was completely off the road.
The only reason I am responding is because a letter was sent to the editor on June 12.
I really do not think any of us has a clue about anything our law enforcement does for us daily.
If drivers would take a little consideration for driving safely then there would be no traffic stops on the side of the highway so state troopers would not be in the way.
Maybe next week we can swap letters on how my father is a bad driver in Iraq because his hummer is trying to dodge the road side bombs or how I don’t work hard every day to keep this the safest air traffic control system in the world.
