A tornado of creative energy, paint, yarn, glue, spaghetti and all manner of other art media rocked the Dallas Academy building where 42 children and nine brave art teachers held Art Camp this week.

It was the 19th Art Camp for the City of Selma Ceramic Art Program.

From Monday, June 4 to Friday, June 8 the art campers work on over a dozen projects ranging from weaving and

printmaking to photo tinting and wire sculptures.

Eight to 16-year-old students

were split into groups of six based on their ages.

Every hour a bell rings signaling that its time to clean up and rotate to the next station and project.

Lunch and snacks are served daily and each day a different group is assigned the chores of setting the table and washing the dishes.

Nunn is already planning his career, &8220;I write books right now.

I want to be an author and an illustrator.&8221;

This is his second year of Art Camp and he plans on coming back.

Art Campers also have the opportunity to work with famous artists like Stoudenmire

and the world renowned Charlie Lucas.

The second session of Art Camp will begin July 9 through July 19.
