Annette C. Hunter
Mrs. Annette C. Hunter, age 40, of Selma, died May 19, 2007 at her residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for May 26, 2007 at noon at Shiloh Baptist Church, Potter’s Station, with Rev. Dan Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery. Miller Funeral Service directing.
Survivors include her husband, Rufus J. Hunter; her parents, Wither L. Carter and Collen Brown; three daughters, Kandace Carter, LaShonda Carter and Jacara Carter; four brothers, John H. Carter, Willie Floyd Smith, MacArthur Carter and Richard Lee Brown; five sisters, Vonicle McQueen, Dorothy Carter, Stacey Carter, Georgia Carter and Deloris Carter; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be friends and classmates.
Lawrence Bryant
Mr. Lawrence Bryant, age 42, of Selma, died May 19, 2007 at UAB Hospital.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 26, 2007 at noon at Aimwell (Hazen) with Dr. Lett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Miller Funeral Service directing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph (Joe) Perry.
Survivors include his mother, Ms. Alice M. Bryant; brothers, James (Ruby) Bryant of Detroit, Michigan, Joe Bryant of Selma, Jessie (Annie) Bryant of Orrville, Clyde Bryant of Selma, and a half brother, Bobby Allen of Selma; sisters, Delores Bryant of Dayton, Ohio, Edna Bryant of Selma, Thelma (Fahmee) Hason of Montgomery, Jerie (Steve) Wright of Stone Mountain, Ga., Gail (Walter) Simmons of Orrville, and Johnetta (Jaymes) Finley of Birmingham; half sister, Vera Perry; and a special friend, Michael Callen of Selma.

Mr. William Smith, age 59, of Selma, died May 18, 2007 at Vaughan Regional Hospital.
Funeral services are scheduled for May 26, 2007. Burial will be at Sandridge Baptist Church. Miller Funeral Service directing.
Survivors include his spouse, Minnie A. Smith; parent, Catherine Smith Ellis; five sons, William “Toris” (Marie) Smith, John “Buffy” (Alfreda) Smith, Aaron (Angela) Smith, Roderick Smith and William Smith Jr.; five daughters, Michelle (Romeo) Smith, Veronica Smith, Tristie “Meka” Purdie, LaQuisha “Quita and Tracy Thomas; mother-in-law, Ada Thomas; four brothers, Joe (Melody) Calhoun, Sylvester (Roseline) Smith, Chapman (Carolyn) Smith, Willie W. Maggie Lee Jones
Maggie Lee Jones, age 79, died Friday, May 18, 2007 at a local hospital.
She was born in Orrville, Ala.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1306 Union St., Selma.
She leaves to cherish nine wonderful children, Willie James Phillips of Florida, Willie Mae Ellis of Selma, Henry (Edana) Well Jr. of Bessemer, Lula (Eddie) Green of Bessemer, Beatrice (David) Pasley of Marion Junction, Ola Mae Jones of Selma, Earnest (Annie) Jones of Selma, Rosie (Otto) Parker of Selma, and Laura Lee Jones of Birmingham; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

John Glenn Dobbs
John Glenn Dobbs, age, 62, of Ashville, formerly of Selma, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, in Birmingham.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2007 at New Live Oak Cemetery.
Mr. Dobbs is survived by his brother, William Drayton, and aunt, Jonny Minton, of Selma.
Raymond Harris
Mr. Raymond Harris, age 37, of Selma, died May 18, 2007 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 25, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church with Pastor Ella Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Miller Funeral Service directing.
He is survived by his parents, Mary Wilson and Frank Harris and five brothers, David, Joe, Myles, Willie and Charles Savage.
