Selma ended its spring on a strong note this past weekend.
The Saints defeated Booker T. Washington 31-0 and John Essex 24-0 in its spring jamboree Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
“Overall I was extremely pleased,” coach Brian Montgomery said. “Our kids executed our game plan almost flawlessly.”
Battling for the starting quarterback job going into the fall, Keaton Spears played all but two snaps. Justin Moore-Jones and Rakeem Harris also had strong days running the ball for the Saints.
Defensively, Melvin Brown and Darrius Moore had outstanding games, but it was Eddie Jones who stole the show.
An upcoming freshman next season, Jones led the defense with three interceptions.
