Did you ever want to feel like a hero?
Like those characters in movies who swoop in and save the day by saving a life?
Well, here’s you chance because giving blood can save a life.
The American Red Cross is holding two upcoming blood drives: Wednesday, May 2 at Fairview Baptist Church, 1800 West Dallas Ave. from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.; and
May 16 at Northside Baptist Church, 2950 Citizens Pkwy. from 3 to 8 p.m.
In order do become a blood donor, one must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health.
Donors must present a photo ID, such as a driver’s license or American Red Cross donor card to donate.
The blood you give may save the life of a neighbor, family member or friend.
A few minutes of your time can fill the life of a patient in need of life-giving blood with countless minutes, hours and days.
Be somebody’s hero by becoming a blood donor.
