Marion girls still perfect, Southside rolls over ACA

The Marion Schools girls kept their record unblemished with an area road win over Marengo Academy in Linden Tuesday night.
Emily Easley led the Tigers (14-0) with a game-high 29 points as they rolled to a 48-30 victory.
Sydney Broadaway led Marengo (4-11) with 12 points in the losing effort.
Marengo hung around and made it a game, trailing just 23-21 at the end of the first half.
But Marion widened the gap a little further to eight points, 35-27, to end the third. The Tigers outscored Marengo 13-3 in the final quarter to put the game away.
Adrienne Howze added six points and 10 rebounds for Marion.
Southside-Alabama Christian
The No. 2 Southside Panthers (11-2, 3-0 Area) beat Alabama Christian
Academy 65-50 Tuesday night.
Junior Willie Cooper scored 16 points, and Marcus Cleveland had 10 points and nine rebounds.
In girls’ action, Southside lost to ACA 51-41.
Kelsey Brown and Shequia Williams scored eight points each.
