Barbecue a smashing success

Dear editor,
The Board of Directors of Sturdivant Hall wishes to thank everyone who had a part in making our recent “Barbeque on the Green” the most successful ever. The proceeds from this event enable us to continue to maintain and promote Sturdivant Hall Museum — our great local architectural treasure.
We send our sincere thanks also to The Selma Times-Journal and its staff who gave us such outstanding coverage of this event. This brought many people to the BBQ but also helps to remind people throughout the community of the importance of Sturdivant Hall as a museum, a tourist attraction and as a venue for weddings, parties, meetings and many other kinds of events.
We are very grateful to all your readers who recently voted Sturdivant Hall as ‘Best Tourist Spot’ in the Best of the Best poll published by the Times-Journal. This beautiful neoclassical structure — now over 150 years old — has a unique place in the history and life of Selma, and we strive to continue its preservation and its place at the heart of Selma’s tourism industry.
Thank you Selma for your tremendous support. Come by and see us soon.
Shop in our Gift Shop. Tour the grounds. Bring your family and visitors to see us. We are here for you to enjoy.
