Thank you for publishing the recent letter from Anne M. Fitts (“Selma schools are good news!” Oct. 28, 2006), which highlights the important role public school leaders play in providing high-quality education for all children.

The American Association of School Administrators (AASA) is leading the way in supporting and developing effective superintendents of schools and other school system leaders who are leading the transformation of public education. Please note a small correction to Fitts’ letter: AASA does not publish a magazine titled District Administrator.

The association does publish The School Administrator magazine, an award-winning, monthly magazine that provides big-picture perspectives and collegial discussions on a broad range of topics in education, leadership, instructional materials and resources unique to the education community.
