Anyone who utters the words “I’m bored” in Selma this weekend obviously hasn’t stepped out of their house.

Between Riverfront Market Days, the Tale Tellin’ Festival and the African Extravaganza, there truly is something for everyone in Dallas County this weekend.

The events have been planned, everything is in place.. All that is missing are local people supporting local efforts.

Seeing everything come together this year has truly been remarkable. Water Avenue has been abuzz with activity as people rush to put the finishing touches on their respective events.

One of the things that has made each event great in the past has been the local support offered by residents of Dallas County and the rest of the Black Belt.

This is a trend we would like to see continue in 2011.

We would like to encourage everyone to  attend one, or all of the events scheduled for this weekend. You will be pleasantly surprised.
