Drew Bozeman literally carried Wilcox Academy to a victory over Jackson Academy Friday night.
The Wildcats gave Bozeman the ball 13 times, and he amassed 154 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-6 win.
The Eagles (0-2) didn’t get on the board until they scored six points in the fourth quarter.
Wilcox Academy (2-0) failed to score in all but the final quarter and rolled up 330 yards on the ground in their first region game of the season.
Bozeman wasn’t a one-man band, though.
Jason Ray turned in an 82-yard performance, and he found the end zone on a 62-yarder.
Phillip Lines contributed 71 yards on eight carries, and both Wade Brantley and Will Albritton scored rushing touchdowns.
Defensively, the Wildcats swarmed to the ball and forced three turnovers. It was the second consecutive week Wilcox took the ball away three or more times.
Bozeman led the team with 11 total tackles and recovered a fumble.
Jack Sims and Albritton both had three tackles and intercepted passes. Braxton Cook added nine total tackles.
