The search continues for a man Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley says could be responsible for a great deal of illegal activity in Selma.

For months, local law enforcement agencies and Federal Marshals have been tracking Daniel Louis McReynolds, also known as Lil Rock. Unfortunately, all tips have led to dead ends.

Lately, Riley said, no one has come forward with any new information.

“We haven’t gotten any tips recently,” Riley said. “Earlier when we started looking for him we had gotten certain tips, but we haven’t had any recently.”

McReynolds is wanted on warrants for securing cocaine with the intent to sell. He is also considered armed.

The search, Riley said, recently expanded nationwide. However, he added, information provided to law enforcement officers indicates McReynolds is probably still in the Southeast.

“He could be anywhere, but we think it is more limited to somewhere else in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, somewhere in the Southern states,” he said. “We feel he may be hanging out there because the last information we got pointed more toward the Southern states than anywhere else.”

McReynolds is a 33-year-old black male. He is 5-foot-7-inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He also has a tattoo on his left arm. Anyone with information on McReynolds can call the Selma Police Department at 874-2190, 1-800-442-7463, or U.S. Marshals at (251) 295-7016.

Riley said several agencies have put in a number of man hours searching for McReynolds, and they hope to have him off the streets as soon as possible.

“We’ve been working diligently on some investigations, and he is a big part and a big player on some of the things that have been going on in Selma in regards to crime,” he said. “We would like to apprehend him as soon as possible.”
