After pleading guilty to two counts of robbery first-degree charges Monday, Vandale Gordon received a 25-year prison sentence.
Gordon, 39, appeared before District Judge Bob Armstrong before receiving his sentence.
District Attorney Michael Jackson said Gordon had a history of criminal activity and will now pay the price for his actions.
“This defendant has robbed more people than John Dillinger,” he said. “We are going to keep shipping these robbers off to prison for a long time.”
Gordon’s conviction stemmed from incidents on Aug. 26 and Sept. 5.
When a report was filed for the Aug. 26 incident, the victim said she was exiting the garden center at Walmart with her groceries and entered her vehicle when a black male forced his way inside her car before she could close the door.
The victim said Gordon grabbed her around the neck and demanded money and the keys to the vehicle.
When officers investigated the incident, the victim had multiple bruises on her head and neck.
The Sept. 5 incident was reported at Junction Amoco where the victim said Gordon walked in and asked about a job.
She said she replied the position had already been filled.
Later, as she prepared to lock up, the victim walked behind the counter, grabbed her in a choke hold, pointed what felt like a gun at her, and said is she screamed he would kill her.
Gordon then led her to the back of the store, tied her up, and pushed her down on some ice, injuring her left elbow.
Gordon then told her if she came out before he left he would kill her.
