James Alton LeCroy
James Alton LeCroy, 73 years old of Clanton, Alabama, died Friday, January 20, 2006 at his residence.
He was born Monday, February 22, 1932 in Chilton Co., Alabama, Son of the late Leon Clifford LeCroy and the late Ruby Pauline Williams.
He worked as a State Trooper for the AL Dept. of Public Safety.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Birda S. LeCroy of Clanton, AL; son, Mr. Jay (Nelda) LeCroy of Clanton, AL; sister, Mrs. Doris (Ray) Sosa of Clanton, AL; 3 grandsons, C.J. LeCroy of Clanton, AL, Stephen Huddleston of Clanton, AL, Adam Huddleston of Clanton, AL; 2 nephews, Mr. Leon Sosa of Clanton, AL, Mr. Ray Sosa of Clanton ,AL; niece, Mrs. Patrice Tingle of Clanton, AL.
Friends will be received 5-8, Saturday, January 21 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Clanton, Alabama.
Services will be held at Mulberry Baptist Church, Sunday, January 22, 2006 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Bishop and Rev. Ethridge Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mulberry Baptist Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
Alvin Durwood White
Alvin Durwood White, 86, of Marion, died Thursday, January 19, 2006 at UAB Hospital.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, January 22, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Memorial Gardens, Marion with the Rev. Lloyd Stockman officiating. Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.
He was preceded in death by a son, Marion Dean White and a grandson, Jason White.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Louise Lovett White of Marion; daughter, Betty Carol White of Marion; sons, Alvin Donald White and wife Theresa of Demopolis and Durwood Clayton White and wife Amy of Demopolis; sisters, Blanch Stewart of Sprott, Ray Oaks of Marion and Leta Hughey of Sprott; daughter-in-law, Martha White of Marion; three grandchildren, Chris White of Millbrook, Morgan White of Demopolis and Clay White of Demopolis; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tom Coleman, Thomas Oaks, Bill Deavours, T. J. Massey, Tom Aultman, D. L. Stephens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Faith Chapel Baptist Church, Highway 45 Rt. 2, Marion, AL 36756.
Henry H. Capps
Henry H. Capps died Saturday, January 21, 2006 in a Prattville hospital.
Funeral services will announced at a later time by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Watkins Morgan
Earline V. Morgan, 95, died January 19, 2006, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Selma Church of God with Rev. Mike Chandler and Rev. Roger Jacobs officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Family visitation will be Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her children, Billy R. (Ruth) Morgan, Brenda M. (Tony) Andrews, and Barney B. (Susan) Morgan; stepchildren, Evelyn Nabors, Marie Cash and Rev. Christy Morgan; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband L.B. Morgan and stepchildren Leon Edward Morgan and James E. Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Tony Andrews Jr., Charlton Harris, Ashley Overstreet, Chase Stone, Dennis Stone, Evan Stone, and Rance Williams.
Mrs. Morgan was faithful to Selma Church of God and to her God. She was loved by all that knew her and will be greatly missed.
Mary Derrington Fields
Mary Derrington Fields, age 86, of Safford, died Friday, January 20, 2006 in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Orrville United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Rimer officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.
Mrs. Fields is survived by her son, Cecil L. Fields Jr.; daughter, Mary L. Fields (Nick) Horne of Selma; grandchildren, Cecil L. Fields III, Nancy Grace Fields of Albany, GA, Bennett Derrington Fields of Tallassee, FL, and Nicholas L. Horne III of Selma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil L. Fields Sr. of Safford; parents, James M. Derrington Jr. and Birdie Lee Lawhorn Derrington; and brother, James M. Derrington
of Adams, TN.
Pallbearers will be Roddie Cahoon, Dan Wilkerson, Calvin Bowie, Hermon Majors, and Howard Burrill.
Family visitation will be from 7 – 9 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2006 at the funeral home.
Percy Watts, Jr.
Percy Watts, Jr., 58, a resident of Selma passed January 19, 2006 at a local hospital.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, January 23, 2006 at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Levi Summers officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery directed by J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home.
Survivors include sisters, Ruby Fuller and Lillie Watts of Selma and Willie Mae Smith of Georgia; brothers Jonathan “Jo” Watts and Arthur “Buster”
Watts of Selma; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and fiends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emma Greggs Watts and Percy Watts, Sr.

Shelby Jean Sheffield, 65, of Plantersville, died January 21, 2006 at Brookwood Hospital.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Ivey’s Chapel Cemetery. Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.
