Roderick Taylor
Roderick Taylor, 33, of Selma, Alabama died January 13, 2006 at Montgomery Baptist Medical Center South.
Services are scheduled for January 21, 2006 at 12:00 noon at
Greater New Hop Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Johnnie Blunt. Burial in Greater New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
Roderick Taylor was born in Selma, Alabama on February 19, 1972 to Mr. Ocie Taylor, Sr. and Mrs. Clara M. Taylor. He was the youngest of seven children.
He is survived by 2 sons, Jamarcus Taylor and Quintravis Johnson (Shad); father, Ocie Taylor, Sr.; mother, Clara Taylor; grandmother, Florence Taylor; stepmother, Pearlie Taylor;
2 brothers, Ocie (Sandra) Taylor, Jr. and Minister Eugene (Martha) Taylor;
4 sisters, Priscilla McMillian, Gwendolyn (Peter) Dunklin, Jacquelyn Wright and Clarissa (Karl) Fails; 2 nephews, 6 nieces and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be pipe welders from the Dallas County area.
Harris Dawson Butler
Harris Dawson Butler, age 87, of West Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Selma, died Monday January 16, 2006 at home in Florida.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday January 21, 2006 in the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home officiated by Deacon Larry Mitchell. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery near Sprott, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be the U.S. Air Force Maxwell AFB Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Eleanor Mitchell Butler of West Melbourne, FL; daughter, Linda (Karl) Liebau of West Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Cameo (Steve) Ellis of Urbana, IL and Krystal (Anthony) Parker of Melbourne, FL; great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Rachael, and Brandon Ellis and Isiah and Michael Parker; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He lived in Selma for many years after his retirement from the U.S. Air Force then moved to Florida in 1989.
The family bids farewell to a fine generous man who could fix anything except their broken hearts from missing him.

Johnnie Mae Glass, of Selma, Alabama died January 17, 2006 at Jefferson County Hospital.
Services will be announced at a later date by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
Hosea Perry, Sr.
Hosea Perry, Sr. , 85, of Selma, Alabama died January 17, 2006 at a local hospital.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 12:00 noon at St. Paul Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Joseph Coleman. Burial in Fairlawn Memory Garden. Directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
Survivors include 1 son, Hosea Perry, Jr.; 2 daughters, Brenda Perry Baety and Linda Smelley Tatum; 1 brother, Benjamin Perry; 2 sisters, Minnie Perry Kendricks and Carrie Perry Bethea; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 2 sons-in-laws, 1 daughter-in-law, 1 brother-in-law, 2 sisters-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Perry was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Perry; parents, Rev. & Mrs. Ananias Perry, Sr.; 1 daughter, Cynthia Perry Isaac; 4 brothers, Lovell Perry, Richard Perry, Rev. Ananais Perry, Jr. and Valentine Perry; and 2 sisters, Laura Perry Hines Purifoy and Ruth (Marie) Perry.
Pallbearers will include friends and family.
Catherine Deyampert
Catherine Deyampert, 80, former resident of Dallas County, died January 15, 2006 in Fayetteville, NC.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 1:00 pm from Good Hope Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill with Pastor John Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include daughters, Bettie Fail and Mary Deyampert-McCall of Fayetteville, NC; a brother Willie B. Wilson, Birmingham; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The body will lie in state at the church from 11 am Saturday until the time of the services.
Larry Glass
Larry Glass, 55, of Orrville, Alabama died January 12, 2006 in Browns, Alabama.
Services are scheduled for Sunday, January 22, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Prosperity CME Church in Orrville, AL. Burial in Glovers Churchyard Cemetery in Thomaston, AL. Directed by Miller Funeral Service.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Marie Glass; 1 son, Antonio Rayford; 5 brothers, Taylor Glass, Bobby Glass, Jimmy Glass, David Rodgers and Floyd Rodgers; 3 sisters, Nettie McCloud, Linda Rodgers and Brenda Rodgers-Croom; 2 brothers-in-laws, 4 sisters-in-laws, 10 nieces and 10 nephews.
Freda Crocker
Freda Crocker, age 71, of Thomaston, AL died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL. She was born, September 28, 1934 in Marengo County, AL. She was a member of Thomaston Baptist where she was the church clerk, the WMU Director, a Sunday school teacher and a member of choir. She served on the Executive Board, the Officer Nominating Committee, and the International Mission Board of the Bethel Baptist Association. She was an assistant clerk for the Thomaston Town Hall. She was a member of the Heritage Center Committee in Thomaston, AL.
She quietly touched so many lives and in return was so blessed by the love and friendship of her dear friends.
Visitation will be at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, January 20, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral will be held at Thomaston Baptist Church on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Randall Mims and Rev. Bill Percy officiating. Burial will be at Thomaston Cemetery, in Thomaston, AL. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden, AL is directing.
She is survived by her Mother, Obnella Crocker of Thomaston, Ala.; Niece,
Suzan (David) LaFountaine of Los Angeles, Calif.; Great Nephew, Drew LaFountaine of Los Angeles, Calif.; Great Niece, Nicole LaFountaine of Los Angeles, Calif.

Services are scheduled for January 21, 2006 at 11:00 am at Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church officiated by Frankie Mae Hutchins. Burial in Countyline #1, Minter, AL. Directed by Miller Funeral Service.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Shirley Levins, Georgia Norris Davis, Ellen Jean Hunter and Hattie Mar Cleveland; 1 brother, Burl Reeves; 3 sisters, Elvira Smith, Lula Mae Reeves and Luisa Reeves; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 sons-in-law, 1 brother-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews.
