Morris Mosely, of Mobile, pleaded guilty to one count of first degree robbery in a Dallas County District Court on Friday and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Mosely was accused of robbing Rhonda and Ulyssess Vaughan at C & C Grocery in Orrville at gunpoint on April 22, 2005.

Mosely, according to court records, was one of several armed men who demanded money and made threats at the store. The crime was captured on videotape.The footage was broadcast by WAKA CBS 8 and featured as the crime of the week in the Times-Journal.

Mosely was one of two suspects in the crime. The other, a 16-year-old boy, was actually arrested and serving time in a Mobile Juvenile Detention Center.

Mosely, 29, was arrested in New York State in a small town between New York City and Philadelphia, Penn. on June 2.

At the time of Mosely’s arrest, Dallas County Sheriff Harris Huffman said his department was still looking for another suspect, 19 year old Tristan Young of Mobile.Information on whether Young or any other suspects were arrested was unavailable as of presstime.

District attorney Michael Jackson said he was pleased with the conviction. He said he hoped more would follow in this case.

“These gunslingers are going to learn that Dallas County is the wrong place to commit a robbery,” he said. “These criminals are going to get a one-way ticket to prison.”
