Angel Tree campaign ready for Phase II

Last year, the Salvation Army of Selma-Dallas County endured a mad scramble leading up to the holidays to get every Angel listed on the tree adopted.
This year, only days after Thanksgiving, there are no more Angels left.
The community responded admirably to the call for help, which gives the Salvation Army plenty of time to prepare for the distribution of these gifts if items for the Angels are returned in a timely manners.
That leads us to part two of the Angel Tree drive. If you made a commitment to adopt an Angel, stick to that commitment. There is plenty of time to shop before the gifts have to be dropped off at the Franklin Street office. And, if you don’t have time to shop, please let the representatives of the Salvation Army know you simply plan to make a donation.
Shopping, especially during the holidays, can become quite a chore. A fast response ensures plenty of time to make sure items on the wish list are in stock.
Selma and Dallas County residents and businesses deserve a pat on the back for their support during Phase I. Let’s not forget about Phase II.
